Our Church in action, in the community.
As a church we put a real importance on meeting the needs of our community. Community Impact is purely about meeting people's physical needs. One of Community Impact's aims is to support groups and individuals already active in the community through resource and prayer.
How do we do this?
Currently we hold regular meals for various community groups ranging from a women's refuge and a homeless hostel to young mums and the older generation. These provide opportunities for social interaction in a relaxed atmosphere. Time-out from the pressures of life, as well as a warm, nutritious meal. We also help to supply welcome baskets to hostels to assist with re-homing. These are filled with items such as cleaning products and necessities, to those little extras that we take for granted.
The future of Community Impact We are now looking to improve our catering facilities and expand this venture, offering more to others in our community. If you would like more information about what Community Impact can offer to you or your organisation, please get in touch.
TK Sunday is led by Jen:
People we support
Bethany Project:
One of the main organisations we support is the Bethany Project. Bethany work along side homeless people in the Bury area and help them to find housing, jobs etc. Joan Crampton, who is a member of our church, works within this organisation in Bury.
Hospital Visitation and Chaplincy:
Eileen Hargreaves, a member of our church, regularly takes communion and does hospital visits at Blackburn. We also have other members who go into the hospital to help feed patients who cannot do so for themselves.
Deaf Community:
Paul Winterhalter is a leader in the deaf community of Ramsbottom. He attends our church which has a number of deaf or partially deaf people in it. We try and have a signer in the meeting as often as possible to meet the needs of these people.
