Miki, Suzana with Ljubisa and Petar |
Miki and his family work amongst the gypsies in Jagodina and the surrounding areas in Serbia.
We started working with Miki in 2001, when he started a church plant. Initially we supported him in prayer and finance, but in the three following years we sent out teams to help in practical ways.
On our first trip in 2002 we distributed food parcels to the neediest families in Jagodina and a nearby town called Cupria where he had started a home group, spending time and talking with the families we visited.

On our second trip in 2003 we again visited many families but by this time the work in Jagodina had acquired a building for their work and so we also helped in a small way with the repairs of these premises.

Our third trip in 2004 we raised £4,000 for food parcels. This supplied food parcels for about 180 different families to be distributed by our team on our trip and then food parcels for about eighty families every other month for the following two years.

We have since been out to see Miki and his family and still support him financially, and now the work has grown to having a group meeting in Jagodina and Cupria as well has having outreaches in Paracin and Strizilo. There is also a thriving kindergarten for twenty pre school children where each day they are given a nourishing meal and some basic education in a Christian atmosphere.
