Slovakia
Ladislav and Jana with their children Erik, Rachel and Lilly

Ladislav and Jana have felt led by God to set up a church in their local town of Slavosovce in Slovakia. We started to partner with them in 2005 praying for them and helping them financially.
Early on in 2006 Martin went out to Slovakia to help with some training and to meet them, then later that year we had a short term mission team go out for ten days to hold outreach meetings and visit gypsy families in their own homes.

We were joined on this trip with some members of a church from Rothwell that wanted to get involved in missions but wanted to have some experience of short term mission trips before going out on their own, so this trip served a double purpose, helping Ladislav and Jana as well as training up another church in England in mission trips, who have since had their own successful mission trip to Slavosovce.

In 2007 we again had a short term missions trip to Slavosovce and Rosnavo, where we spent several days teaching English in local schools, as well as holding outreach meetings, sports events for the youth, visiting families, etc.

During the 2007 mission trip Ladislav showed us a building that he felt would serve as a good centre for the work in Slavosovce and after prayer and discussion our church council decided it was right to buy the building to help further the work.

Our support of this work will continue through 2008 where members of our church will go on a prayer trip for a week to Slovakia and where we will also have another mission trip.
